What Are the Biggest Issues Facing the Current Administration?

Many people believe that the country can finally move forward. The events that took place on January 6th were absolutely heartbreaking. The capital has not been treated with such disdain since the War of 1812, when the capital was burned to the ground by the British. Now, the new administration is ready to take over. A lot of people are ready to return to the status quo.

At the same time, this is not necessarily going to happen. Therefore, it is important to take a closer look at some of the biggest issues that are facing the current administration. What are some of the biggest issues that the current administration has to tackle? There are already groups in place, such as No Labels, that are working for bipartisan cooperation in the capital.

The Coronavirus Pandemic

Of course, one of the biggest issues that are facing the current administration is the coronavirus pandemic. This is not something that is going anywhere anytime soon. It is good that there are vaccines being rolled out; however, there is a difference between developing a vaccine and getting people vaccinated. The reality is that there are a lot of people who are still hesitant to get the vaccine. There is a lot of misinformation out there, creating a lot of vaccine hesitancy. The only way we will get out of this pandemic is as we vaccinate our way out of it.

We are also racing against the variants. The virus is mutating quickly. We need to get people vaccinated before these variants can give rise to another pandemic. Otherwise, we may never get out of the situation.

The Economic Crisis

A side effect of the pandemic is an economic crisis. It is true that the market is rolling; however, there are warning signs that the economy is not doing very well. For example, wages have stagnated. There are a lot of sectors of the economy that are struggling to find workers. Inflation is rising quickly because of all the money we have pumped into the economy. Therefore, a lot of people are concerned that they may not be able to afford basic goods and services. In addition, housing prices are shooting up as well. Basic goods, such as lumber and steel, are also becoming expensive. Furthermore, there was a gas crisis that took place in the southeast recently. All of these issues have to be addressed for the country to get back on track.

The Infrastructure Plan

In addition, the administration also has to take a closer look at the infrastructure plan. The reality is that there is a lot of infrastructure in this country that is crumbling. This includes roads, bridges, and basic utilities. A lot of them are in a complete state of disrepair because they have not been tended to in many years. Right now, there is a war going on in Congress trying to figure out how this infrastructure package is ever going to get past. There are some people who want to include other items in the infrastructure plan, such as nursing home aids. There are other members of Congress who want to stick to the basics. Therefore, is the infrastructure plan ever going to get passed? Outside have to come together if they would like to pass this plan.

The Extremism in the Country

Finally, there is a lot of extremism that is currently present in the United States. This is something that has to be addressed for people to feel like they are safe. Unfortunately, there are more people getting shot every day. How is the administration going to deal with this? What are the options that are available? There are some people who are still refusing to accept that domestic terrorism, and white supremacy, is a major threat to the sovereignty of the United States. It is important for both parties to come together and find a way to address this major issue.

Will the Current Administration Be Able To Handle These Major Issues?

These are just a few of the biggest issues that are facing the current administration. A lot of people are wondering if the administration is up to the task. Without a doubt, this is not something they can do on their own. For these issues to be resolved favorably, both parties have to come together and put their differences behind them. The reality is that the filibuster is not going anywhere. Therefore, the Democrats do not have the votes they need to pass their packages through unilaterally. It will be interesting to see what happens during the current administration. If everyone can come together, a lot of good can be done that can benefit the country.
